old computer not working like before.?
so after a look through in my storage shed i came across my old hp pavilion 750n pc tower that i have not used in over a year. i took it out cleaned the outside and inside with a can of compressed air before turning it on. after hooking up all of wires power, mouse, keyboard, vga to my current pcs screen i turned it on and no picture. i then hooked the vga cable to the pci card that had been installed when i actually used the computer a year ago, and i got the windows xp logo loading screen but after that the screen goes black and the monitor does not get a signal. i want to ask what would cause an issue like this? is it due to the pc not being used for so long? or is it another problem maybe the pcs memory has gone bad? please any advice will be help full.
well it seems like its a ram problem try to take out ram and put a ram stick which you know is working and then start it if its still not working then try to reinstall your window 'cos its probably a window problem than ,,If you really wanna checktry another VGa card in it ,,,,or else ,,,you can borrow these from a friend and someone else who's ising that type of component also before Installing windows try to take out your Hard Disk Drive and put another Hard Drive (take it from you r Friend or someone else ) that'll do it,,,If its still not working then its all torn rug
