Why doesn't Antec make Micro-ATX cases with 4 internal hard drive bays?
I have browsed all month for a Micro-ATX case with at least 4 to 6 internal hard drive bays, and I love Antec's products... but they don't make enough Micro-ATX chassis' with 4 internal hard drive bays, what gives?
I thought their aim was to please their clientele, but of all the searching for a Micro-ATX chassis tower, I went with a Silverstone brand HTPC ATX chassis to serve as a ATX Desktop chassis!
No one makes enough Micro-ATX Desktops except Thermaltake and ATX Desktop chassis', what the hell?
So if any of you work for Antec or HEC or even Apevia preferably, anyone tell me why there are not ENOUGH Micro-ATX tower chassis' with 4 internal hard drive bays, or ATX Desktop chassis' being manufactured and/or designed?
Hello,
The answer is heat buildup. The smaller the case the less air movement. Micro-ATX cases are very limited in what they an hold because when you add the motherboard with the CPU fan needed to cool it and the power supply plus optical drive you are limited to about 2 drives before you have major issues. In a mini and full size case you can stack the 4-6 drives along the front of the case and have no problems because there is other places for air to move. In the MicroATX cases if you stacked 4 drives in the front you would cook your drives and the motherboard/CPU in about 20 minutes. Even regular size cases sometimes have heat buildup issues and have to have added fans just to keep up, the Micro cases don't have room for the extra fans either. Trying to run 4 drives and a nice motherboard in cases that small is just asking for trouble.
