How do I use my pc Windows Media Center as TV2 to watch Dish network?
I have a Dish network DVR 625 which I want to connect to my Windows Media Center. I have a TV in the living room connected to TV channel 3-4 out port on the receiver and this works properly. To watch TV on my pc elsewhere, I ran a coaxial cable from the channel 21-69 port at the back of the 625 receiver to the TV-in port on my PC tuner card, using an attenuator between the cable and the TV-in port on the TV as directed in the receiver user guide. I then ran both automatic and manual scans on Windows Media Center but have been unable to get TV signals. What am i doing wrong? Please HELP !
I did this also. Windows Media Center's TV tuner will not recognize the channels that TV 2 come in on (mine is 73). Only channels channels 2-4. You could "capture" video using MovieMaker and tuning to channel 73, or you could do what I did, which was run TV 1 to the PC with a coaxial going from "TV 1 Out." I have my TV 1 hooked up to the TV using RCA cables, so I'm not using the TV 1 Out jack for the TV. I was originally going to split my TV 2 cable, which goes to a TV right NEXT to the PC, but came across the channel issue which prevented watching "Live" TV and getting the program guides, etc.
