Why Should I Buy A Ducane Grill?
Grill Parts (Ducane)
When shopping for a new barbecue grill, a Ducane grill is definitely one of the best choices you can make. The company was launched in 1946 as Ducane Brothers Metal Fabricating. Eventually barbeque grills evolved. Ducane made great appliances and the evolving bbq grills were no exception. The Ducane family added features to the barbecues far before other grill manufacturers started using these parts. When surveyed, three out of four Ducane grill customers say that their next barbecue grill would be a Ducane model! Before purchasing replacement parts, be aware of the models' differing features:
1. Stainless BBQ Grill parts.
Stainless steel is an excellent material for the exterior of barbecue grills. 304 stainless steel is sometimes limited to the grill burner. Other times, the entire grill is encased in stainless steel. In order to prevent rusting, corrosion or any staining, by using stainless steel, you will be adding years to the lifetime of your grill and parts. Different grades of stainless steel exist and not all are worthy of outdoor bbq grill parts! Not only barbecues but commodities of all kinds are made cheaply when sent overseas. That said, choosing a low-grade stainless steel could be as problematic as choosing an inferior type of material. While cheaper to buy replacement grill parts could make the barbecue more expensive a year later.
2. Top grid for reduced heat and warming.
This is a crucial feature if you're grilling for a small army, or have a gap between cooking and serving tasty foods. The warming rack is positioned perfectly so the food that you've already grilled will stay warm, but won't get overcooked. This is a must-have feature for anyone who does major grilling. Even high-end grills use plated grates for the warming rack.
3. Burners.
If you want the convenience of using your barbecue grill to do other types of cooking besides grilling, then choose a grill with burners. Still, various features can affect which types of replacement parts you'd need. Less expensive grills use cheap material for the burners instead of American stainless steel. The number of burners can differ, though they typically range from 2-4. Replacement bbq grill burners are different from one model to the next.
4. Grid.
This is another key replacement part of Ducane grills. Cooking grates can be aluminum, porcelain enameled steel and stainless steel of varying diameters. The grill parts in the barbeque will determine on the amount of necessary repairs and replacement bbq parts later. When purchasing a replacement part, make sure to know the exact model number of your Ducane grill.
5. Temperature gauge.
This is an invaluable tool that lets you know the cooking temperature of your meats, without needing to open the grill's lid and then test the meat. The thermometer indicates the heat within the barbeque for cooking and cooking times. The lid thermometer allows you to check the temperature of your cooking meats without ever having to open the grill's lid or have to test the meat temperature yourself, which is invaluable in itself. Digital thermometers are also available.
6. Smoking box.
This attachment is a must-have for grillers who are fans of smoked foods. These barbeque parts create additional flavor during heating and mimicking charcoal grilling. But isn't using a natural gas grill sufficient for enhancing the flavor of your grilled foods? Add wet wood chips to the barbeque in a smoker box. There are many different types of wood which will create a number of different smoke flavors. Wood that has been soaked for barbecue smoking and for barbeque planks have a multitude of flavors blending differently with different foods. When using a grass grill, hardwood lump charcoal tends to produce the best smoked meat.
7. Rotisserie accessory.
This is a critical component for your Ducane grill if you want to add some variety when cooking on it. When using the rotisserie, the mere variety of different uses for roasting small birds will be enough for any griller to become excited. Roasting bbq is a naturally healthy method of cooking. The rotation of the meat ensures that it's cooked evenly. Rotisserie barbecuing can be leaner as fat drips from the rotating spit rod. Sauces and herbs will perfect your roasted meats. In addition to chicken a rotisserie can be used with a basket to tumble fish sticks and chicken legs.
Ducane grills evolved over thirty years perfecting bbq grill parts and becoming some of the best in the world. Understanding the features of the barbeque grill will help with future grill repairs.
anybody know of a good roof rack for a minivan?
i have a 2000 Toyota Sienna minivan and i want to get a roof rack system. what do you think of this system?
http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/RA604A00-Rockymounts+Noose+Sl+Roof+Rack+Tray.aspx
i need something cheap but sturdy. does this type of system place any excess stress on the bike in any way?
i already have the crossbars on the roof, so this is all i need, right?
i get the point about exposing the bike to wind and the danger of driving into a garage. i have a trunk mount that i can use when it rains. but when its nice outside, i want an alternate way to mount my $3500 bike. if i strap it to the trunk rack, it rubs off the pretty red paint, lol.
Do not use a roof rack. You will, not maybe, you will run it into the garage. Sounds like you have decided on a roof rack anyway. You have been warned.
Good Luck
